Why Choose K&K Firewood

What kinds of wood do you offer?

We use only hardwood, primarily oak and hickory. Additionally, we have a selection of fruit woods such as apple, cherry, and pecan (when available).

How big is the firewood?

Our wood is sourced from whole logs and is cut to a maximum length of 16 inches. This ensures that each piece of wood can be carried in one hand and allow for easy handling when building your fires or using the wood.

How big is a rick of wood?

When stacked, our ricks measure four feet in height and eight feet in length.

How many ricks can I order?

Our minimum order size is two ricks, however our delivery capacity allows us to transport up to nine ricks at a time.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payments in the form of cash or check.

How soon can I have my wood delivered?

Delivery time varies depending on the time of the year, the volume of orders we’re receiving, and the size of those orders. You can reach out to us to place an order, and we would be glad to give you a more specific timeframe at the time of your order.

Is your firewood seasoned?

We offer both seasoned and green wood for purchase. You can choose to order only seasoned ricks, only green ricks, or a mixture of both seasoned and green hardwood. Not sure what you need? Feel free to call and we’d be happy to guide you through the process.

What is seasoned wood?

Seasoned wood contains a low moisture content because it has been split for several months. As a result, seasoned wood catches fire more easily and burns at a much better rate.

What is green wood?

Green firewood (also known as unseasoned) has been cut recently and, therefore, has a higher moisture content. It burns more slowly than seasoned wood.

Should I order green or seasoned wood?

We typically recommend a mixture of both. The seasoned wood can be used to start the fire since it catches much more quickly. Once there are coals from the seasoned wood, green wood can be added to keep the fire burning longer. However, based on your specific situation, your needs may differ. Feel free to call us so we can talk you through this process.

How can I tell the difference between my green and seasoned wood?

Your seasoned wood will be darker, lighter in weight, and will likely have lost most of its bark. In comparison, the green wood will be lighter in color, heavier in weight, and will have most of its bark attached.
